WHO ARE WE

Who are the Clergy Couples ?

There are many examples of clergy couples, here are a few:

  • Some are married or partnered and others are colleagues who desire a clergy partnership.

  • Some are serving the same Unitarian Universalist congregation, others are serving two different congregations.

  • Some are community ministers with spouses serving a Unitarian Universalist Church.

  • Some are Unitarian Universalist ministers whose partner or spouse is serving another denomination.

  • Some are newly married, newly ordained and others have been married for over 25 years and have been in co-ministry for quite some time.

  • Some are ordained, others are seminarians or just starting out as ministers.

What do they all have in common? Clergy couples are two partners who are in ministry, one of whom is serving in a Unitarian Universalist ministry.

Our directory of churches is provided as a reference directory of churches and people involved in ministries that comprise our Clergy Couples group. If you are thinking about becoming a “clergy couple,” or on the search committee that is considering calling a Clergy Couple, we encourage you to get in contact with a member of our organization. Currently the Chairs of Clergy Couples are Dennis Daniel and Syndey Wilde, email them. They’d be happy to talk about their experience.
